Derives of a vision I had. Jumping into a mountainlake, a steel tail springs out... perfect for swimming . . .

But; drawing it, it wouldn't just be a mountainlake. I suppose said lake was a gate to another world. You figure that ;)

Shi painter.

I remember seeing this a while ago at OC and going "....wow."

It still gives me that same reaction. I don't know if it's the shading, the background, the hands, or the metallic parts. Maybe it's all of them. But I love this. :+favlove:

thank you :)

Sorry for taking so long to reply, it's not that regularly I get through my messages. Thank you. I am very pleased with this picture, because it turned out just right. And it still aint often I can say that, after drawing for years and years...

You have an amazing talent for oekaki! I love your smooth shading and the depth and lighting of the whole piece. I really love your concept (yay people who get ideas from dreams :D) and you have done a beautiful job of imparting movement to the whole piece. I feel like you might have wanted to have a bit more blood if the tail is just sprouting, but that's really up to you. Overall, this is one of the best oekakis I've seen in a long time; great shading and lighting and absolutely awesome concept. Cool piece! :D

Thank you so much, I greatly apreciate it, even if I've taken so damned long to reply. Hmm, I wasn't really interested in making a bloody piece, it's not... supposed to be unnatural for he/she/it to sprout that tail, I think, so it'll be like Wolverine getting claws or something. Or it's washed away by the water. Actually another argument someone came with, that there'd hardly be blood at all because it'd completely dissolve into the water. I'm actually more thinking it's a mix of blood and oil. I can't remember too much anymore, it's 1½ year ago now that the concept came to me.
